Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Future Music Forum Barcelona. The main objective of the FMF is to gather the leading minds in the world of digital / social media / music distribution, mobile & progresive music services to share views on how music is being shared in todays digital age & discuss new developments in music technology. Ultimately our goal is to provide musicians and music industry professionals alike with the tools to help monitize these advancements for future projects. The 3nd edition will be taking place at the Museu D'art Contemporani De Barcelona, MACBA September 20th & 21st 2012

Digital Crossroads: Time for Digital Music’s Plan B?

Just how far have we come? There is a lot of commendable progress in the digital music space but it is becoming increasingly clear the Digital Plan A isn’t delivering quickly enough

· Assessing the impact of streaming. Spotify has brought some welcome momentum and attention to digital music but its growth must be put in historical context, and the overall impact of streaming on broader music consumption raises some difficult questions.

· Innovation and the iPad Analogue. The iPad created an entirely new best-of-breed product category. The music industry needs its own iPad moment, a new music product that leverages the capabilities of the digital age in a way the stream and download don’t.
